The car market in Northern Ireland has received a boost with the opening of a brand new Charles Hurst Toyota dealership in Dundonald. Investing over £1.5m in the new venture, Charles Hurst has created 14 new jobs in the area and the business also has plans to kick off a new apprentice recruitment drive in 2013.
The exciting new dealership will offer a full range of services for Toyota customers including, New Sales, Used Sales, Parts and Servicing in its purpose-built sleek and modern showroom and the business will stock over 80 vehicles.
The Toyota expansion at Charles Hurst, which brings its Toyota dealership portfolio total to three, is a direct result of its market-beating sales performance in the last year. Retail registrations are up an impressive 14.5% year-on-year, the company said, compared with a 3% decrease in the overall Toyota performance at other dealers in the province.
Colin McNab, Group Operations Director of Charles Hurst said: “It‘s a really exciting time for us and we are absolutely delighted to be able to continue to invest and expand the Toyota business in Northern Ireland, despite the tough economic conditions. The steady and consistent increase in Charles Hurst Toyota sales, combined with the expanding and updated Toyota range, such as the recent GT86 and Prius models, and the ever developing hybrid technology gives me great confidence that the new showroom in Dundonald will be extremely successful.”
Masa Nohara, Toyota CEO commented at the launch: "Northern Ireland is an important market for Toyota and we are naturally delighted by the growth achieved by Charles Hurst over the last 15 years since being appointed to the Toyota franchise. This new showroom demonstrates Charles Hurst's commitment to expanding the business yet again, and we wish Colin and the team every success for the future. Importantly, I'm most excited for our customers, who can look forward to the best facilities and services on offer."
