Citroën to fit insurance 'black box' as standard

Citroën has confirmed that it will be the first manufacturer to start fitting a telematics 'black box' as standard. This promises to help reduce insurance costs, particularly for younger drivers.
The equipment will be fitted specifically to the Connexion edition of its city car, the C1 and has helped the French manufacturer to provide free insurance for the first year.
More importantly, renewal premiums will be based on the driving behaviour over the first 12 months, meaning that good driving habits will be rewarded with lower insurance premiums.
