This is the brand new Alfa Romeo 4C, which the Italian sports car manufacturer describes as a "compact mid-engined supercar" and due to be unveiled in Geneva.
True to supercar form, it is rear-driven two-seater but at less than 4 metres in length, it is around the same size a Lotus Elise.

Most of the new car's development is thanks to technology and material use derived from Alfa's Modena-built 8C Competizione.
The 4C will be powered by a 1750cc 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, constructed entirely from aluminium and matched to twin-clutch automatic gearing.
Alfa's DNA performance selector will also include a 'race' setting. The chassis is an advanced carbon fibre monocoque.
